Can you help Ian find love?

Inspired by Chris Olah's "date me doc", I'm taking some tech optimization to my own dating life... welcome to "Cupids for Cash".

I do realise this is quite strange behaviour, but after looking into traditional matchmakers I realised my own social network might be a better bet.

This site is designed for my friends/matchmakers rather than strangers, so the idea is that you already know me well. That said, the commission is open to anyone, so feel free to take your shot as Cupid!

What is the commission?

Cupids for cash operates an incentive-based commission:

£100 for a first date
£1,000 if we become a couple
£10,000 if we date for one year

What am I like?

I'm half american and half scottish, but grew up most of my life in and around London.
I've spent the last decade+ in AI research, most recently at OpenAI building ChatGPT, check out my website.

Some of my best qualities:

Driven = determined, focused, gritty
Intelligent = sharp, deep thinker, creative
Fun = spontaneous, silly, shenanigans

Generally, I do think of myself as a "conventionally attractive man", but also kind of a legend mate.
I don't fit neatly into "jock" or "nerd" boxes, but rather a third stranger thing (see CV).
I'm not perfect, and certainly have some rough edges, but hope that I can laugh about them.

What am I looking for?

Here are a few key traits that I am looking for in a life partner:

Kind = compassionate, caring, emotionally intelligent
Fun = spontaneous, silly, shenanigans
Competent = reliable, capable, could ride a bike
Something Special = x factor, passionate, main character

Terms and conditions

This is really not meant for a court of law, but rather more of a gentleman's agreement.
I'm nothing if not a gentleman, so here's how the cupid cash works:

First date: £100

If you suggest a date and I agree to it, then you have bagged yourself a nice little earner.
Note that repeatedly recommending duds may result in your removal from the program.

Become a couple: £1,000

If both parties agree to date each other exclusively, then you can pocket a cool grand.
You still get the money if things go south... but if you are found "in cahoots" that's poor form.

Date for one year: £10,000

The one year clock begins with the "girlfriend bonus"; if we last a year you're looking at ten big ones.
Short breaks (<1m) won't reset the clock, but longer interludes will restart from day one.

No marriage bonus?

I'm looking for a life partner, marriage, and a family... but those decisions need to move beyond cupid cash.
Rest assured, any successful cupid in this endeavour would be honoured beyond all others.

What can you do?

If you can find someone you think might be a great fit, help set us up!
This might be a long-time friend, or even a local hottie you spotted at yoga.

I’m not expecting anything magical from this scheme, but it’s a fun way to diversify from dating apps.
An introduction from a mutual connection actually feels more promising than random swipes.
